The Making of a Warrior

Is it possible that you are living, right now, in an answer to a desperate prayer you prayed? A prayer you whispered or fervently cried out to God with tears and burning in your heart to be molded into the image of Christ? Crying out that you wanted more of God? Prayers that you would be strengthened against the evil of this world and stand strong and uncompromising? To be separate from all you ever knew of your past and to become a warrior for Christ?? To be used mightily of God and for His Kingdom?

Is it possible, that the hell you are walking through in your life, right now, is the answer to those prayers? The fight is actually working something in you that will cause you to stand and walk in the reality of those prayers and face the future tests of life with victory, strength and power?

These are dangerous prayers! But the answers to these prayers will make you dangerous to the kingdom of darkness!! You will be confronted with the lion and the bear-as in David’s experience- and because of them, you will be fit to face Goliath!

The making of a warrior. This is not a trivial nor sterile process, and one that will require from you, strength, courage and trust! One that requires the end of comfort, the end of empathy and complacency and did you know God is committed to those prayers and to forging you into a weapon that can stand against the enemies of our day.

Isaiah 41:15 & 16 (NKJV)

“Behold, I will make you into a new threshing sledge with sharp teeth;
You shall thresh the mountains and beat them small,
And make the hills like chaff.
You shall winnow them, the wind shall carry them away,
And the whirlwind shall scatter them;
You shall rejoice in the Lord,
And glory in the Holy One of Israel.

God has invested everything to see that we come alive to His intent for our lives and to His pleasure prospering in the hand of His Son, Jesus, over our lives. (Isaiah 53:10 NKJV)

When God called Jeremiah, one of the greatest prophets that ever lived and who walked in the fiercest, most devastating history of Israel, was made into an impenetrable wall:

Jeremiah 1: 17-19 (NKJV)

Therefore prepare yourself and arise,
And speak to them all that I command you.
Do not be dismayed before their faces,
Lest I dismay you before them.
For behold, I have made you this day
A fortified city and an iron pillar,
And bronze walls against the whole land—
Against the kings of Judah,
Against its princes,
Against its priests,
And against the people of the land.
They will fight against you,
But they shall not prevail against you.
For I am with you,” says the Lord, “to deliver you.”

How much more will we who are Christ’s walk the same path as Jeremiah? Let this not surprise you, but arm yourselves to walk as Jesus walked. To suffer in the flesh as he did to do the will of God. And trust me, when your will comes up against the will of God, there will be a battle. There will be a fight inside and possibly outside, until your surrender is accomplished. But this is for your good.

When we have children, we don’t abandon their growth to them getting their own way. On the contrary, we challenge them, teach them and stretch them to become responsible members of society. This is our LOVE for them. How much more does the Father of our spirit, LOVE us? How much more would He see to it that we grow into the maturity of Christ?

The making of a warrior, requires WAR! You can’t become a warrior without a fight! But know this, the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty!

2 Corinthians 10:4 (NKJV)

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,

Ephesians 6:12(NKJV)

 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

1 Peter 4: 12 – 13 (NKJV)

Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you;  but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.

If you are there today…. fighting. Warring. Take heart. You have been chosen! Not only to believe in Christ, but to suffer with Him so that you can be transformed into His Image.

Philippians 1:29

For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake,

Consider yourself elite and marked if you are enduring various trials and tribulations, for you belong to Him. He will not fail you! He will not leave you! He is committed for eternity!

Set your eyes on Jesus and do not sway in the battle! Wield your sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God! He is forging you into His instrument to defeat the foe on all fronts. The enemy has no claim on you, you are the King’s warrior!!
